Harvestview Mixed Use Development
Rochester, MN
Harvestview is a 320-acre master planned community by Bigelow Homes, located in northwest Rochester, Minnesota. This mixed-use project includes areas of retail, office, a public school, public regional storm water facilities, personal services, and other commercial uses as well as a variety of both single-family and multi-family housing. It is considered a conservative design project using Special District Zoning. This approach uses development standards that integrate environmental corridors with a linear storm water treatment and a trail system throughout the project that connects to a 13-mile trail system of the Department of Natural Resources. It also contains large public storm water facilities, two public parks, and a public elementary school located in the central portion of the development. A Public and Private investment and partnership was essential for the successful development of Harvestview. Harvestview is planned as a diverse, compact and walkable community and offers an alternative way of living.
